 One-day international cricket is one of the most popular formats in the world. This is also the most popular with the audience. There was a time when players only dealt with bowlers in fours, but after the introduction of T20 cricket, batsmen became more aggressive and began to hit sixes more frequently in One Day Internationals as well. However, explosive players such as Gayle, Afridi, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma have demonstrated the art of hitting sixes in the legendary 50-over format. The most interesting part is that five Indian batsmen are among the top ten players with the most sixes in One Day Internationals. Consider the players who have the most sixes in ODIs.

Shahid Afridi -

Shahid Afridi, a former Pakistani all-rounder, has the most sixes in ODIs, with 351 sixes in 398 matches. Afridi was a Pakistani cricketer who served the country for 19 years (1995-2015). Shahid has made 8064 runs at an average of 23.57. Afridi has also hit 730 fours in addition to the most sixes.

Chris Gayle -

Chris Gayle, Jamaica's swashbuckling opener, has hit 331 sixes in ODIs. Gayle has played 301 One-Day Internationals and scored 10480 runs at a commendable average of 37.83. Gayle has always been known for attacking the ball in international cricket. Gayle's highest score was 215 off 147 balls against Zimbabwe in the 2015 ICC World Cup. The 41-year-old was a member of the Champions Trophy-winning team in 2004.

Sanath Jayasuriya -

Former Sri Lankan swashbuckling opener Sanath Jayasuriya ranks third in terms of sixes hit, with 270 in 445 ODI matches. Jayasuriya has 13430 runs with an average of 32.36. His 13430 runs are the fourth most by an ODI batsman. Sanath has also hit 1500 fours in ODI cricket, which is the second most in the format.

Rohit Sharma -

Rohit Sharma, the current Indian opening batsman, has hit the fourth most sixes (245) in ODIs. Rohit has scored 9283 runs in 230 ODIs at an impressive average of 48.96. Rohit Sharma's 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014 is the highest ODI score by any batsman.

MS Dhoni -

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni ranks fifth in terms of smashing sixes, with 229 sixes in 350 matches. Mahi has collected 10773 runs at an astounding average of 50.57. MS is the world's only lower-order batsman with an ODI average of more than 50. MS Dhoni is known as the world's best finisher. Dhoni has also hit 826 fours in his career.

Eion Morgan -

Eion Morgan has the sixth most sixes (220) in ODI history. Morgan has played 246 One-Day Internationals for England, scoring 7701 runs at an average of 39.69. Morgan has recently emerged as one of the game's best hitters. He led England to victory in the 2019 World Cup.

A.B. DE VILLIERS -

AB DE Villiers has the seventh most sixes in ODIs, with 204 in 228 matches. For his ability to play shots all over the park, he was nicknamed "Mr 360." He has 9577 runs with a dazzling average of 53.50. De Villiers also holds the record for the fastest 50, 100, and 150 in the globe.

Brendon McCullum -

Brendon McCullum, an ex-New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman, has the eighth most sixes in ODIs, with 200 in 260 matches. McCullum has 6083 runs scored with a decent average of 30.41. Brendon McCullum has also scored the most sixes in tests (107).

Sachin Tendulkar -

Sachin Tendulkar, the highest ODI run-scorer, has also made the list, with 195 runs in 463 ODIs. Sachin has scored 18426 runs at a strike rate of 44.83. The most important aspect of Sachin's career is that he scored against great bowlers such as Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Waqar Younis, Courtney Walsh, Shane Warne, and others. Sachin has also hit the most fours in his ODI career (16), more than any other batsman.

Sourav Ganguly -

Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain, has smashed 190 sixes in ODI cricket. Ganguly scored 11363 runs in 311 matches over the course of his 15-year career (1992-2007), with an average of 41.02. In 2002, Dada became the first Indian captain to win the Champions Trophy. During India's difficult period in 2000, Ganguly was the man who changed the face of Indian cricket.
